WeLearn Academy Newsletter – October 11 – October 15, 2021
Dear WeLearn Community:
I had the wonderful opportunity this morning to be commentator for the Primary Group PBL sessions. I was joined by two other parents, Allan Gallant and Mark Norman, as well as Coach Al. We were all genuinely impressed by the quality of the presentations: wonderful graphics and animations; and clear presentation sequencing with a strong call to action at the end. Big thanks to Coach Sarah for guiding them through the program.
It was great to see the teams remain so calm and focused in the face of technical glitches, team members who couldn’t get online in time, and other real-world pandemic presentation obstacles.
In many ways, they were more sanguine about it than many adults would have been! As I explained to the students at the beginning of our session, our PBL is more about acquiring key 21st Century Skills or “Future Skills” than about acquiring knowledge: skills such as teamwork, leadership, self-direction, communication, problem solving (critical and creative thinking) etc. So well done everyone!
We are also very pleased to be able to reopen our center on November 1st. I and my team look forward to welcoming our returning Learners back in our centers soon and meeting our many new Learners and Parents.
To help other families pursue this type of learning with access to the full WeLearn model, we will start
working on making our PBL curriculum and recordings of PBL classes available after the sessions.
Resuming Onsite Learning (Bangkok and Hua Hin)
WeLearn Center in Bangkok and Hua Hin will resume on-site PBL learning in two weeks, November 1st, 2021. We will be providing more details next week regarding the possible adjustments in our scheduling and also the government regulations to make face-to-face delivery possible. Rest assured that we will be very vigilant in creating a learning environment that is safe and secure for your children.
Wishing you a wonderful and safe weekend.
As always, Upward and Onwards!!
