Our learners recently set off on a Real-world Experiential Learning trip to the Science Fair 2024 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on July 24, 2024. This incredible journey perfectly aligns with our Project-Based Learning (PBL) challenge on Designing an Eco-friendly Future Transportation System.
Throughout the trip, our learners had the opportunity to explore exhibitions in all six zones:
INSPIRED BY SCIENCE
STARTUP LAUNCHPAD
SCIENCE FOR EXPONENTIAL GROWTH
SCIENCE FOR ALL-WELL BEING
SCIENCE FOR FUTURE THAILAND
During these exhibitions, our learners gained invaluable knowledge and experiences from experts in various fields. The insights and inspiration they received will undoubtedly help them accumulate and build on their learning sustainably in the future.
This experiential learning is crucial for fostering creativity, understanding sustainable innovations, and preparing our learners for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow. We believe that such real-world exposure is essential for their growth and development as future innovators and leaders.
Letβs continue to inspire and empower our learners to think creatively and work towards a sustainable future!
Read MoreExploring Solar Innovations: A Hands-On Field Trip to Siam Technology College
On July 11, 2024, we had an enriching field trip to Siam Technology College, where our learners learned extensively about solar-powered vehicles. They delved into how these cars operate, focusing on the components needed to power them. They explored four different car designs, STC 1 through STC 4, which were used in the solar car competition in Australia, and examined the engineering advancements in these green transportation methods. A highlight of the trip was the opportunity for our learners to ride in one of the solar cars, adding a fun and practical element to their learning experience.
After the ride, we held a Q&A session where our primary learners shared pictures of their prototypes with STC experts. The experts provided valuable suggestions for improving their designs and solar-power mechanisms. Additionally, the learners gained general knowledge that will be beneficial for future projects.
Armed with this new knowledge, our primary learners had one last chance to modify their prototypes based on the experts’ suggestions and their experiences at STC. οΈ This hands-on experience and expert feedback have significantly enhanced their understanding and skills in developing solar-powered solutions.

Read Moreππ Secondary Learnersβ Project Presentation : Refining Innovation Through Feedback and Self-Directed Learning π
Our secondary learners have been conducting presentation audits for their project workflow and pitching their prototype solutions to our coaches. This stage is crucial for receiving feedback that will guide further refinement of their projects. Our goal is to ensure that learners fully grasp the design thinking process, create innovative prototypes, conduct thorough research, and develop self-directed learning skills.
During their presentations, learners will receive valuable feedback from the coaches. This feedback will not only help them improve their projects and presentations but also advocate for design thinking principles and promote self-directed learning. The coaches’ insights are instrumental in enhancing the quality of the learners’ work and in fostering a deeper understanding of the iterative nature of design and innovation.
To maintain organization and focus, we use a Project Tracking template at the end of each week. This tool helps learners stay on top of their tasks and ensures they are progressing steadily towards their goals. This weekβs activities are pivotal for showcasing their understanding and ability to develop innovative solutions.
By engaging in these audits and incorporating feedback, learners are better prepared to fine-tune their projects and presentations. This iterative process not only improves the final product but also instills a sense of ownership and confidence in their work. We are excited to see the continued growth and creativity of our learners as they advance through this critical phase of their projects.

Our primary learners completed the prototype phase of their PBL solutions in designing an eco-friendly future transportation system before moving to the testing phase this week. During this period, they emphasized the critical importance of communication, teamwork, and task-division skills in transforming their solution concepts into prototype designs. This process was especially pertinent for groups that made several iterations to better fine-tune their prototypes according to the pain points of their stakeholders.
As the final phase of the PBL challenge approaches and the pressure builds, these soft skills have been crucial for each group coordinator among the primary learners. They have ensured effective task management, balanced workloads, and achieved the expected results. The groups’ final tasks include updating their progress on presentation slides, sourcing materials, and researching alternative solutions to overcome expectations and address various work-related issues among team members.
This experience has not only helped them manage their projects more efficiently but also fostered a deeper understanding of collaboration and project management within deadlines. We are proud of the skills they are developing and look forward to seeing their completed prototypes tested next week.
