With WeLearn, you will be assigned a dedicated coach that will guide every step of the way. With each session, you will take your coding from beginner to expert and your engineering and robotics from noob to pro. You will have your own robotics coach all dedicated to you, helping you develop your own future skills and be an robot guru!
Intro to Robotics
Introduction to Robotics PBL connects students aged 9-15 years to study robotics and learn about hardware, software, artificial intelligence, and different industries where robots operate. Students will work on multiple robotic projects and share their work with the global community. To help students create their projects, each student collaborates with peers from around the world through a series of online lessons.

Design a robot whose purpose is to benefit society.

Plan for a career in robotics by identifying the skills needed to work in the field

Create a fictional story, a film, or even a radio broadcast about a specific robot or the future of robotics

Design their own project inspired
Duration: 2-week virtual program Full-time or After school

Intermediate : Robotics using mBot
Intermediate – Build your very own robot and and get to keep it forever. Make an mBot from scratch from the kit delivered to your door. Learn about all the mBot components, how they work, what they are all called and finally, how to programme your mBot to performs complex moves, sing, dance and glow in the dark. Make a self driving car and learn how to code through a maze that you have designed and built. All with your phone or tablet

Step 1 : Construction | Learn how to build a programmable robot from scratch, construct the mbot straight from the box using self-directed resources & remote coaching sessions. Live assessments, quizzes & reflection |
Step 2 : Learn Coding & Debugging. |
Learn drag & drop programming and complete all 10 coding levels using mBlocky, the dedicated mbot app to take you from from novice to expert coder. |
Step 3 : mBot Missions |
Attempt more complex mission and open ended challenge. Learn how to code to perform complex operations customized to your commands |
Step 4 : Assault Course Challenge. |
Design and create your own robotics assault course to test out your coding. |
Step 5 : Play Music. |
One of the simplest things that we can do, to make something cool with our robot, is the βPlay noteβ command. One note is just one note, but put the right notes together in the right order and we have a masterpiece. |
Step 6 : The LED Display. |
There are 2 RGB LEDs on the mCore. RGB stands for Red-Green-Blue and LED stands for Light-Emitting Diode. Each LED can be assigned a level of red light, a level of green light and a level of blue light from 0 (light turned off) to 255 (light turned on full power). By combining these lights, you can make a wide range of different colors: |
Step 7 : Move in a Square. |
NOTE: While following this tutorial and developing your own program, make sure that your robot is either propped up so the wheels arenβt in contact with a surface, or in a space where it can move freely β Please make sure it doesnβt fall off any desks or tables. |
Step 8 : Move in a Circle. |
Sometimes we donβt want to move in a straight line or perform a point turn (as the turn left / turn right commands do). In this case we can use the βset motorβ block: |
Step 9 : Racing mBot |
Build: Standard mBot (you can remove the ultrasonic sensor and the line follower) |
Step 10 : Singing and Dancing mBot |
The options are endless with this robot. Write any song you like or make your own song, and then get the mBot grooving to the beat. Write some code that plays a song. Write some code that gets the mBot dancing. Run the program from the mBlock environment. Put a βWhen Green Flag clickedβ header on top of each block: |
Step 11 : Reading Sensors |
This tutorial teaches how to read values from sensors in the mBlock IDE. There are also tutorials which specifically focus on how to use the Makeblock sensors, for example the light sensor, the ultrasonic sensor and the line follower sensor. |
Advanced : Robotics using Vex IQ
Advanced – take your robotics, engineering and computer programming to the next level with Vex IQ SuperKit. Now you can take your coding, computer programming and engineering to pro level. Once the kit had been delivered to your door, you will have your own Robotics Coach to guide you with this advanced kit and 16 complex challenges. You can even build any hybrid version of the Vex IQ kit that for any task and conquer the world!
VEX IQ is a robotics platform designed to transform the STEM learning (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) paradigm for young students and future engineers. When students have the ability to jump right in and snap robots together using this intuitive tool-less system, it can unlock a curiosity and a passion that will stay with them for life.
