WeLearn Academy Newsletter – December 20 – December 24, 2021

Dear WeLearn Community:

First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you, as valued members of our ever-growing WeLearn community, for your support and understanding throughout this unusual and uncertain year. After what we’ve been through, I think we all deserve a big virtual hug from the man above (or at least your spouse and kids!!) this time of the year for having survived, showing our resilience and perseverance, maintaining our humor (mostly at least).

We had a wonderful Christmas party on Wednesday after our STEM Innovation showcase and are pleased to share a few pics of the event below.

Also, please note the Robotixar STEM Robotics Camp to be held at the WeLearn center next week. Further Information is provided below.The last days of the PBL term are always full of emotions, a bit of pressure and so much joy, that we only later realize that some might only meet again in January 2022.

WeLearn Academy Newsletter – November 29 – December 3, 2021

Dear WeLearn Community:

This week has been an overwhelming experience for our learners, and it was beautiful to see how much effort, work, and understanding went into their final presentations. The value of these showcase days for them is quite substantial, as they learn from early on that they need to ‘own’ their project and come up with unique ideas and solutions. I am very proud to see our learners overcome the hurdles and challenges of working with their teams during the lockdown, and yet, still produced amazing presentations.

We are also incredibly grateful to our visiting experts and our dear parents who were able to attend the showcase. Our experts share relevant real-word insights, help our learners improve their solutions, and supply priceless feedback. Rightfully so, our learners’ parents who have been supporting them throughout the course of the projects until this final showcase, were captivated by their children’s performance.

The last days of the PBL term are always full of emotions, a bit of pressure and so much joy, that we only later realize that some might only meet again in January 2022.

Dear WeLearn Community:

Happy Friday! Next week will be a very busy week for WeLearn with three days of PBL showcase for all cohorts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. We look forward to seeing and hearing from all the PBL teams in our center!

Field Trips for Early December: We have received good feedback that many of your children want to join the field trips in December. We are finalizing plans for both options, and will send you the schedule, pricing, packing, and other details in a couple of days’ time:

1. Hua Hin December 6th to 9th to visit WeLearn Hua Hin and join the Arts and Sports Program at Patravadi School (www.patravadischool.com). Accommodation and meals will be provided by Patravadi School.
2.  A mud house building adventure in Lop Buri the week of December 13th at Baan Din Mod Deng.

Dear WeLearn Community:

Feedback on Field Trips for Early December: Please provide us your feedback on whether you are interested in your child joining our two field trips in December. If we have enough interest, we will proceed to plan for those trips and provide you with more information.

We are considering two options:

(1) Hua Hin in the week of December 6 We plan to visit the Fine Arts and Sports Program
at Patravdi School (www.patravadischool.com)

(2) A mud house building adventure in Lop Buri the week of December 13.

Reminder of MAP Assessment: The Measurement of Academic
Progress (MAP) Assessment is scheduled at 10 am – 3 pm, November 22, 2021, for the Middle Learners, and November 29, 2021, for the Primary and Secondary Learners. The assessment will
be administered at the center in Bangkok. More information may be found in the Learner Success section below!

Reminder for PBL Showcase: Learners present the PBL projects they’ve been working on throughout the semester to experts, peers, and parents in our PBL Showcase. The PBL showcase will take place on-site according to the following schedule:

Primary Learners: Wednesday, Dec 1st, 2021 (10 am –12 pm)
Middle Learners: Friday, Dec 3rd, 2021 (10 am –1 pm)
Secondary Learners: Tuesday, Nov 30th, 2021 (10 am – 12:30 pm)

WeLearn Academy Newsletter – November 8 – November 12, 2021

Dear WeLearn Community:

Come to the Center! We would really like to see more Learners join us in the center for our PBL and Innovation Sessions. Our PBL and Innovation courses were designed for on-site, group learning as the hands-on counterpart to our online core academic program.

Exercise Club

We have started our outdoor fitness program again at Lumpini Park. Trainer Joy is back with us to escort our Leaners to the park for a running, fitness & calisthenics program — as well as lot of outdoor fun and exploration. The Learners will be joined by WeLearn staff members to ensure their safety. Trainer Joy is an accomplished marathon runner, having won a number of competitions in Thailand and competed internationally as well. She has also started focusing on triathlons more recently.

December Flex Month Program: We are exploring options
to offer special Experiential Learning Programs during the first half of December. Two options we are considering are a fine arts and sports program at Patravdi School (www.patravadischool.com) in Hua
Hin the week of December 6 and a mud house building adventure in Chiang Mai at the Pun Pun Center for Self Reliance (www.punpunthiland.org) the week of December 13 to 17. Please keep your calendar open!

WeLearn Academy Newsletter – November 1 – November 5, 2021

Dear WeLearn Community:

Happy Friday! We have had a very good first week back at the center. Our safety protocols are fully in place and our app for uploading your ATK test results and risk assessment form are up and running. We held a Q&A session on Wednesday morning and have sent out the presentation slides to all parents by email. As a reminder, our ATK testing requirements are:

1. Learners:  Prior to first return to onsite learning at the center 

2. Parents:   Weekly! Please submit each Monday.
